Alternatively, while the home from which you are moving might have previously been decked out with your furniture, you could now be moving into a residential property that already has its furniture – for example, because it is fully furnished or semi-furnished rental property.
Naturally, that situation would leave you with two separate sets of furniture and perhaps wondering where, for the time being, you are supposed to put the old items. However, when your home move is in any kind of awkward transitional phase like this, our secure storage solutions can help.

What packing materials will you need?
It has been estimated that the average UK home has about £35,000 of contents. You could therefore understandably be eager to keep those contents safe and secure as they go from your old house to the new one – and the packing materials you choose for these items will be pivotal.
You should, however, be wary of using bin liners. This is because, once you have packed potentially very precious items into a bin liner and tied it up, you could later too easily mistake it for a rubbish bag and throw it out. You want your packing materials to look unmistakably like packing materials.
We would particularly urge you to use cardboard boxes, as these are not only better for the environment than bin liners, but are also more resilient and protective. Fortunately, from our team, you can easily order boxes of various sizes – and other essentials required to seal those boxes.
All of the boxes we supply are double-walled to reinforce their strength, not to mention made from recycled materials. This makes these boxes a double win for the environment, as you are unlikely to break them – or need to replace them – as early as you would comparatively “standard” boxes.
We advise that you pack particularly fragile and breakable items, like wine glasses and crystal ornaments, by wrapping them carefully in bubble wrap, securing them with strong adhesive tape and then putting them into the smallest box possible. We can provide the bubble wrap and tape.
Fragile items will be easier to carry – and thus keep safe – when placed in small boxes. However, much larger objects, such as sofas, are undoubtedly often the hardest to move safely, as the corners could too easily get scratched or inflict damage upon something else during the move.
The good news is that the strong adhesive tape and bubble wrap we have already mentioned can also be used to help protect these larger items, including while they are in transit. Our packaging supplies also include sofa covers and mattress covers – both single and king size mattress covers.
If you will need any breakable or fragile possessions transported over long distances, we strongly recommend that these are packaged in high-quality crating, which we can provide and tailor-make to your requirements. We line each of our wooden crates with thick cushioning and waterproof paper.
